Russian Company Protek Group invests in TIDZ Skopje 1

A cornerstone laying ceremony kicked off a construction of a new plant in the Technological Industrial Development Zone Skopje 1, an investment of the Russian Protek Group.
At the cornerstone laying ceremony speech was held by Prime Minister Nikola
Gruevski, Vice-Premier and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski, CEO of Protek
Group, Yakunin Vadim Sergeyevich, Director of the Directorate for Technological
Industrial Development Zones, Natasa Hadzi-Lega and Director of the Agency for
Foreign Investment and Export Promotion Viktor Mizo.
CEO of Protek Group, Yakunin Vadim Sergeyevich said that their EUR5 million
investment will be realized in two stages.
Prodis will manufacture homeopathic and herbal medicinal products, aimed for
the Russian Federation and the markets of former USSR, Yugoslav and overseas
countries, Yakunin said.
Macedonian Prime Minister Gruevski expressed belief that many Russian companies
would follow the suit of Protek Group.
Foreign investments will keep entering Macedonia thanking to the Government's
policies for sustainable economic growth and constantly advancing of the
business climate, Gruevski said.
"The new investment in Bunardzik will narrow the technological gap between
the Macedonian and foreign companies, while direct, indirect jobs will mitigate
the unemployment problem," Vice-Premier Zoran Stavreski said.
Before the ceremony, Prodis DOO director, Kosta Dimov and heads of the
Directorate for Technological and Industrial Development Zones and Agency for
Foreign Investments, Natasa Hadzi-Lega and Viktor Mizo respectively, signed the
Land Lease Agreement and State Aid Agreement launching the Russian investment.
Gruevski and Protek's top officials also attended the signing.
Protek Group is the largest pharmaceutical company in Russia*. The Group has
diversified business interests and is active in all major segments of the
pharmaceutical industry such as manufacture of medicinal products, wholesaling
and retailing of pharmaceuticals, beauty and health products. The Group employs
more than 12 thousand people.
The Group is vertically integrated, which enables it to set up a complete
product supply chain from Production to Wholesale to Retail sales. The Group’s
key assets are: CV Protek, a national distributor of pharmaceuticals, beauty
and health products; Sotex, a manufacturer of medical products; and Rigla
pharmacy chain.
CV Protek is a major distributor of pharmaceuticals, beauty and health products
in Russia. It has been active in Russia’s pharmaceutical market since 1990. The
company supplies medicines to all 83 constituent territories of the RF; with
total warehouse space, near 170,000 sq.m.
The Production segment is based on Sotex company. The company’s manufacturing
facility, located in the the Moscow region, is one of the most advanced
high-tech pharmaceutical manufacturers in Russia.
Rigla pharmacy chain boasts 577 pharmacies in 26 regions of Russia and Ukraine.
